Titanium-Clad POx Autoclave – Ertis
Coek fabricated a titanium-clad autoclave for pressure oxidation (POx) gold extraction in Kazakhstan. The design, developed in collaboration with Hatch, was approved after extensive validation testing. The autoclave has a total weight close to 1,000 tons and includes internal compartment walls in titanium.
Scope of work
- Fabrication of POx autoclave in Ti GR17 clad
- Compartment walls in Ti GR12
- Total weight: approx. 1,000 tons
Material Highlights
- Titanium Grade 17 cladding for corrosion resistance under POx conditions
- Titanium Grade 12 internals for structural strength
- Carbon steel base shell for pressure containment
This autoclave was the first of its kind delivered by Coek for POx-based gold recovery. The project sets a reference for large-scale, titanium-clad equipment operating under high temperature and pressure in highly corrosive environments.
