Descriptions
For Gold applications, often Pressure Oxidation (POx) is used to extract the gold from refractory ores. (In recent years, POx is also considered for Nickel extraction.)
In this process, high pressure and high temperature conditions are used to oxidize sulfide minerals, thereby releasing the gold or nickel particles for subsequent recovery.
Also for this last application, Coek is involved in the fabrication of Ti clad autoclaves based on Ti GR17 liner materials. Coek produced the first POx autoclave in 2018 and was delivered in 2020. Hatch who was the main engineering company involved has undertaken significant Due Diligence on the subject of ignition of Titanium for POx related processes, and years of tests were made by several instances before this project could get a green light. In the mean time, this autoclave is successfully taken in operation.
type
Nickel, Cobalt & Gold products
In mining environments where extreme corrosion, abrasion, and pressure are constant, material choice is critical. We engineer process equipment using premium alloys—selected for their strength, resistance to aggressive leach solutions, and proven reliability in hydrometallurgical operations.
Autoclaves
Autoclaves with Ti GR17 cladding
— AutoclavesCoek was involved in a substantial number of projects to deliver the Titanium GR17 clad autoclaves for Nickel/Cobalt applications, as well as for Gold extraction.
Nickel, Cobalt & Gold Materials
To meet the extreme demands of metal mining and hydrometallurgy, we work exclusively with high-performance alloys. These materials are selected for their resistance to sulphuric acid, chloride solutions, and high temperatures, ensuring durability and safety across leaching, extraction, and refining processes.
Titanium
Lightweight and exceptionally corrosion-resistant, titanium is ideal for autoclaves, piping, and solvent extraction components exposed to hot acid and brine solutions.
Projects
In nickel, cobalt and gold mining, every material decision is critical. Our portfolio showcases custom-built equipment and welded constructions that support high-pressure leaching, solvent extraction and metal recovery processes — all engineered to withstand the industry’s toughest environments.
