Specific properties
The microstructure of duplex material is the key factor that disnguishes it from other stainless steel materials. It is charactrized by dual-phase composition, consisting of proportions of austenite and ferrite phases. Super duplex is more alloyed, which improves it-s corrosion resistance.
Variable grades
Different Duplex and Superduplex grades are selected based on required corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking in harsh environments.

Duplex and Superduplex grades combine high mechanical strength with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion, making them ideal for demanding process conditions.
904L material has a similar corrosion resistance then super duplex, however 904L provides a superior performance in suphuric acid due to its increased copper content of 2 %. Coek has processed a lot of 2RK65 material (Alleima trademark) in PTA applications.

Duplex and Superduplex steels are commonly used in highly corrosive environments where both strength and resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking are essential. These materials are ideal for demanding chemical processes involving chlorides, high pressure, and temperature.
PTA preheaters (904L/ 2RK65)
Under KTS technology, a wide range of preheaters are used. where the medium range temperature preheaters are using 2RK65 and C-276 tube materials. Channels are lined with 904L on top of stainless steel 316L to improve the corrosion resistance.
