In polycarbonate production, material selection is driven by the need for high thermal resistance, chemical compatibility, and mechanical stability. Our equipment is engineered to handle the demanding conditions of phosgene-based and phosgene-free synthesis routes.
Reactors
Reactors with jacket in Tantalum clad
— Tantalum cladFor Poly Carbonate applications, reactors are fabricated with Tantalum liner (using a copper innerlayer). There reactors have typically a carbon steel jacket and are manufactured in cooperation with Tantec Germany.

Polycarbonate Materials
Corrosive environments, high process temperatures, and aggressive chemicals such as phosgene require advanced material choices. We work with the most reliable alloys to ensure long-term process integrity and safety in polycarbonate manufacturing.
Tantalum
For the PC application , Sabic is using Tantalum as the main material to handle the corrosion resistance. Given the senstivity and high cost of Tantalum as material, a very limited and selected vendor base is used to fabricate the critical equipment.
